Annie
Get Your Gun - Original Broadway Cast Recording
(1946)
Because
Kenny Bowers was in the oiginal Broadway cast of Annie Get
Your Gun, one would assume that he would be heard on the
original Broadway cast recording. But, for reasons not yet explained,
second leads Betty Ann Nyman and Kenny Bowers were
not present, and for the recording of their duet
"Who Do You Love, I Hope?," they were replaced by Robert
Lenn and Kathleen Carnes. The recording was made on May 16, 1946,
only ten days after the show opened in New York. |

| How
Come!
Half a Mind (Promotional Record 1957)
Billboard
reviewed How Come! on July 8, 1957, stating, "Bowers
really belts this rock and roll-styled ballad with emotion. Side
has to get some attention and warbler could inspire some violent
partisanship. One to watch." The review described side 2,
Half a Mind, as "A rather off-beat vocal styling
by Bowers on some good ballad material. Warbler's intense delivery
may or may not appeal, as on the stronger flip."

| Weach
for the Wafter, Santa
An Axe, An Apple And A Buckskin Jacket
(Columbia Records 1957)
Columbia
Records released this 45 RPM record in 1957. From Billboard,
November 4, 1957 "The tot on this disk takes a dim view of
Santa. He caught him kissing girls, dancing the mambo, etc., and
is ready to blow his head off for these quasi-Noel practices.
'Weach for the Wafters!' he shouts."

| Honeysuckle
Rose
My One Prayer Was Answered (1958)
Columbia
Records released this promotional 45 RPM record in January, 1958.
It has Kenny Bowers with Jimmy Carroll and his Orchestra. Side
1, Honeysuckle Rose is Kenny having fun and singing in
his outgoing style. Side 2, My One Prayer Was Answered,
is hard to listen to and sounds like an attempt by Kenny to sound
like Johnnie Ray.
